With little more than a week remaining before the winter transfer window slams to a shut, the future of Eric Garcia has come into focus.

It seems the defender could be all set to leave Barcelona this month, in favour of a permanent move elsewhere as he looks to rediscover his form and gain more game-time at the highest level.

Two clubs vying for Eric Garcia

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Eric Garcia has no shortage of alternatives either, with at least two clubs actively vying for his services.

The two clubs in question are Girona and Como. Both clubs are willing to table an offer to sign the former Man City starlet.

In fact, Como are even ready to pay up to €7 million for the services of Garcia, with coach Cesc Fabregas really pushing for the Spaniard’s acquisition.

Another option for Garcia could be Girona. It must be noted that the defender had spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Girona and had an excellent time under Michel.

In fact, Garica’s performances in central defence played a key role in helping Girona secure a top-four finish in La Liga last season.

Keeping that in mind, Girona are confident of convincing Garcia to return to the club once again, though it remains to be seen whether or not the Spanish outfit can offer as much as Como.

For Barcelona, the sale of Garcia could potentially open the door for them to make a last-minute attempt to sign Marcus Rashford.

The Man United forward has emerged as a potential target for the Catalans this month, but the club cannot make a move for the Englishman without offloading space in the wage bill. That is where Eric Garcia’s exit could be pivotal.
