Two new Barcelona signings are registered only till December
In the last summer transfer window, FC Barcelona were able to incorporate only two new signings. One of them was Dani Olmo, whom they brought from the Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, and the second was Pau Victor, who was purchased permanently by the Blaugranes after having him on a season-long loan with Barcelona Atletic from Girona.
The latter of these players, Pau Victor, had a very impressive season with Barcelona Atletic, as he scored 20 goals. The Catalans had the option of purchasing him for €3 million before 1st April, but their financial conditions kept them from doing so.
However, Deco still maintained an interest in him and ultimately signed him at the end of July. Although there were rumours of a €2.5 million deal, the club did not announce the price of this operation or the player’s release clause.
As things stand, Victor is a part of the Barcelona first team, but his future at the Blaugrana club is not entirely certain. This is clear from a report from Mundo Deportivo which claims that, like Dani Olmo, he is also registered with La Liga only till December 31st, and the Catalans will have to generate enough FFP margin to register him for the second half of the season in January.
But the good news for Pau Victor is that he is not getting as much salary as Dani Olmo, so Barcelona will have to generate a considerably lower FFP margin to be able to register him.
Meanwhile, the player and his entourage are calm about the situation as they understand what the FFP situation was this summer. They also fully believe that Barcelona will be able to register both Pau Victor and Dani Olmo in January.
In this regard, Laporta has already publicly declared that Barcelona would have returned to the 1:1 rule if they wanted to this summer, but they did not rush things to get a better deal from Nike. He assured that this status would be reached by January, and then, there would be no problems in registering these two players.
