Tuttosport: Theo and Leao ‘redeem themselves’ just in time for Liverpool and Inter clashes
Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao responded to the criticism with a very strong performance against Venezia last night. While the opponents were far from the best, the duo still showed their best side as highlighted by a report this morning.
Hernandez and Leao are the ones who have been criticised the most at the start of this season. As the stars of the team, everyone was expecting more and the criticism was largely justified. Yesterday, however, the two responded in the best way possible.
As highlighted by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Hernandez and Leao kickstarted the goal fest against Venezia with the Frenchman’s goal after less than two minutes. A classic combination between the two, even if the goalkeeper perhaps should have done better.
This, in addition to their attitudes throughout the game, helped them ‘redeem themselves’ ahead of what will be a very difficult week. Liverpool are up first in the Champions League and then, at the weekend, Milan will face Inter in the Derby della Madonnina.
By making the same impact we saw yesterday in the big games, or perhaps even more, Hernandez and Leao will truly showcase themselves as leaders of this Milan side. Of course, this is what everyone is hoping for as well.
