Tuttosport: ‘Surprise summer goalkeeper’ – Torriani’s stock rises in America
Lorenzo Torriani’s stock has seen a substantial rise this summer, and there are questions about his future position within the AC Milan goalkeeper hierarchy, following his impressive pre-season.
For the Primavera, Torriani was not a starting goalkeeper, and he was not even a second choice, as Tuttosport (via Milan News) recalls. However, this could change vastly in the coming season.
In all three of Milan’s pre-season games, he has made important saves, and following Marco Sportiello’s injury, there could be a position open within the first team, and Torriani could be the one to take that spot.
Torriani has impressed the Rossoneri set-up with Fonseca now facing an important decision, but he has also been praised by Ancelotti, and Guardiola’s admiration of the youngster rose once again following an impressive performance against Manchester City.
As Tuttosport states, it was earlier this year when the goalkeeper was a third-choice ‘keeper for the Primavera squad, and there is a genuine chance that he could start the season as the senior team’s third-choice.
From decisive saves to impressive confidence with the ball at his feet, it may be a talent for Milan to nurture, and being a part of the senior squad’s goalkeeper union could push his development at a fantastic rate.
