Tuttosport: ‘Ricci remains in Milan’s plans’ – statement midfield signing eyed
AC Milan are planning to make an investment on a new central midfielder, and Samuele Ricci of Torino remains high on their list of targets.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) this morning has the following headline on their front page: ‘Ricci remains in Milan’s plans’. Milan have two objectives for the January window: to sign a new midfielder and a deputy for Theo Hernandez.
Ricci remains ‘the dream’ for the former, but it is unlikely that Torino will let him leave in January. For this reason, the Milan directors are keeping a close eye on other profiles, such as Angelo Stiller of Stuttgart and Morten Frendrup of Genoa.
It is not excluded that there could be two midfield signings in the coming months, because Ismael Bennacer has just returned from the serious calf injury that kept him out for over three months. Thus, there is a chance he does not provide sufficient guarantees.
Ricci is in increased demand after a brilliant start to the season with Torino, playing 19 times across all competitions. He has been used both as a regista in front of the defence but also as a box-to-box player, which means he offers the kind of versatility that would be useful for Milan.
