Tuttosport: ‘The present makes you cry’ – Milan Futuro under pressure after bad start
There was a lot of excitement about AC Milan’s ‘Milan Futuro’ project that launched this summer, but they have run into some early difficulties in terms of obtaining results.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) has a segment with the following headline: ‘It may be Milan Futuro, but the present makes you cry’. Indeed, it centres around the fact that the beginning of the campaign has been tough for Daniele Bonera’s side.
The paper points out that there is a lot of hard work for the Rossoneri to do in order to get up to speed with ‘big boy football’, and as we highlighted in a recent tactical analysis the team are paying a bit for their lack of size and physicality.
On Saturday, newly promoted Pianese beat Milan Futuro which means that they are second from bottom in the table, with the worst attack in Group B of Serie C (just four goals scored in eight games). They are struggling in particular to score open play goals.
The project has as its priority the developments of young players rather than the results obtained, so Bonera is not at risk for now, but the squad are struggling from a lack of confidence which must be addressed.
