Tuttosport: ‘Maldinis at San Siro’ – Italy-France to provide a reminder of Milan’s past
Italy will take on France at San Siro tonight in the final game of the UEFA Nations League group stage, and it will be another special night for the Maldini family.
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports this morning, there will be two Maldinis at San Siro later, something which does not seem beyond the realms of possibility of course. And yet, neither of the two Maldinis have any more official ties with Milan.
The first is obviously Daniel, who moved permanently to Monza in the summer and will be part of the squad for tonight’s game, hoping to help Luciano Spalletti’s side to top spot. It is currently unlikely that he will start the game, but could come off the bench.
Paolo Maldini will be present too at the stadium he called home for so many years. He will be there to cheer on his son, but there will be other recognisable faces in the crowd too such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Beppe Marotta , Gianluca Zambrotta, Daniele De Rossi and others.
There will be a return to the Meazza for Gianluigi Donnarumma – who said in a press conference that he expects a warm welcome – as well as Sandro Tonali who is certainly more likely to get one.
