Tuttosport: Leao to miss Roma game – the game targeted for his return

After Rafael Leao’s injury against Verona, there was some concern among AC Milan fans regarding the extent of his muscular problem.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the tests he underwent yesterday ruled out any serious issue and therefore there is a chance of having him available for the Supercoppa Italiana against Juventus in Saudi Arabia.

In one week the Portuguese will have another MRI to check on the progress of his recovery. Based on the outcome of this test, it will be clear whether Leao will be able to return to training with the squad or not and therefore whether he will be able to board the plane that will take the team to Riyadh.

What it means is he will certainly miss Milan’s next league match against Roma scheduled for December 29 at San Siro, then the objective (and hope) is to be available to face Juventus a few days later.

The treatment room is quite full at the moment, but fortunately many are on the road to recovery. Alvaro Morata will be back against Roma, who missed the Verona match due to tonsillitis. Christian Pulisic is expected to recover too, and Ismael Bennacer might even be ready.

The conditions of Yunus Musah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek – both struggling with muscular problems – will need to be evaluated in view of the Supercoppa.
