Tuttosport: Fonseca’s future ‘sealed’ regardless of Ibrahimovic’s ‘professional’ smile
The headlines this weekend will be about AC Milan’s clash with Inter, but the headlines could be quickly followed by news of Paulo Fonseca’s departure if the result is not a positive one.
It is do or die for Fonseca after only five games. Five games, two losses, two draws, nine conceded. In other words, the Portuguese coach’s methods are not working, and unless there is a miraculous turnaround he will be relieved of his duties.
Before the game, reports have suggested that the Portuguese coach will be given the news of his status after Milan’s game against the Nerazzurri. However, others claim that a decision has already been made.
Tuttosport (via Milan News), today, strengthens this claim, reporting that the Portuguese coach ‘most likely’ will not be on the bench on Monday with his future ‘sealed’. Even if there were smiles between him and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Milanello, they were only ‘professional’.
The Swede has already begun looking for a profile to replace the current boss, and Edin Terzic – who Ibra spoke to earlier this week – is a favoured option alongside Maurizio Sarri. Elsewhere, Massimiliano Allegri, Sergio Conceicao and Igor Tudor are on the shortlist, perhaps, others will also be added when a decision is made.
