Tuttosport: A derby in January – Milan and Inter to battle for Belahyane
AC Milan have taken a heavy interest in Reda Belahyane, and they are not the only club to do so. In fact, they are not the only club in the city to take an interest.
It is only in the last few days where Milan’s interest in the Hellas Verona has come to light, however, reports suggest that the midfielder has been tracked by Geoffrey Moncada since his time at Nice – which is understandable given his adoration for French talent.
The midfielder only moved to Serie A last January and Verona are set to make themselves a hefty profit on the youngster, with a €10 million price tag being discussed, and the Rossoneri are keen to get a deal done as soon as possible. But it will not be straightforward.
This is largely due to the amount of interest in the 20-year-old. Chelsea and Marseille are among the most interested parties, and now Tuttosport (via Milan News) write that the club are also going to be challenged by their rivals, Inter.
The Nerazzurri see the midfielder as an ‘ideal choice’ to replace Asllani, and they would happily pay the fee that is being requested for Belahyane. Inter historically have gotten the better of Milan in January on the pitch, and the Rossoneri will hope this trend does not come across to the mercato on this occasion.
