TS: Juventus coach Thiago Motta considers new Yildiz role as Vlahovic struggles continue
Tuttosport reports that Juventus coach Thiago Motta is considering playing Kenan Yildiz as a false nine as Dusan Vlahovic is still struggling to find his footing this season.
Vlahovic was subbed off during the break of Juventus’ 0-0 draw against Napoli on Saturday after making just six touches in the first half. The Serbia international has scored two goals in six games across all competitions this season.
With Arkadius Milik out of action with an injury, Vlahovic was replaced by Timothy Weah, who played as a centre forward but failed to create danger for Napoli.
Tuttosport highlights that the Bianconeri are the first team in Serie A for completed passes but are penultimate for assists and shots on target.
Although they haven’t yet conceded in Serie A this term, the Bianconeri have a clear problem with offensive production so, according to Tuttosport, Motta is considering using Turkish talent Yildiz as a false nine to replace of Vlahovic.
It remains to be seen if Motta will make this tactical change in the next Serie A match against Genoa on Saturday, but surely the Bianconeri boss is working to solve Juventus’ problems up front.
