Is Trump guilty as charged? Just watch his behavior and he will tell you | Opinion

Trump’s behavior speaks

It sure seems to me that defendant Trump’s behavior is not that of someone who really believes he’s not guilty as charged.

On teaching reading

Regarding the letter, “Fresno Unified teacher casts doubt on ‘science of reading’”: Excellent article. During my 36 years in education I also have watched money spent on programs that are rarely used and gather dust.

As for the teaching of reading, I was fortunate to have attended elementary school when the look-see (or some such name) was popular rather than phonics. Years later, during one of our mandated in-services I learned I am phonics ”deaf.”.

Everyone learns differently and it is important to keep that focus.

Jewish students’ civil rights

I am extremely disappointed that the civil rights of Jewish students are being violated and no one is held accountable.

In regard to the mobs rioting on campus, where is the Department of Justice? These thugs are not only violating Jewish civil rights by obstructing Jewish student movement, but also inciting violence. They are openly declaring themselves to be terrorists.

Opinion

Don’t patronize me that this is complicated. Call in the feds to escort these students to class.

Meanwhile, call up the National Guard to remove the tent city and post 24-hour watch to prevent them from moving back in with tents.

It does not take an Ivy League scholar to plan this operation; a junior enlisted Marine NCO could figure this out.

No turning clock back

The far right want to turn the clock back to an illusionary past. They think that life could be better if only we could live back in 1955 America.

The problem is, it is nothing more than an illusion. Yes, times were better for some, but not for very many others. That is the problem with the far right. They seem to not care about the others. They want to live in a privileged white past.

Another problem with their illusion is there is no going back. There never has been and there never will be going back to a past you think was ideal. They need to face reality and move on. It’s the only way to live a complete and fulfilling life.

Acceptance of others is not as bad as you think it is. It can actually enhance your life, if you just let it happen.

Border is not 100% open

I am tired of hearing ”open borders” and “close the border.” First, the Mexico-US border is not wide open — try walking from Mexico into San Diego, Calexico, Nogales, El Paso and other crossings, as well as flying from Mexico into Fresno or any other American city, and you have to show your passport. Not just anyone can cross into many crossings along the border.

Yes, there are holes and openings where people come illegally, but it it is not 100% open.

Many people seem to think illegals got here by running through the border, but many of those flew on an jet here on a tourist, work or student visa and never went back.

Many people are begging to shut down the border with Mexico, when Mexico grows lots of the food we eat and manufactures vehicles and parts as well.

Many of the border cities and towns depend on the amount money that is spent by people on both sides .

Again many folks just do not understand the border and illegal immigration.

Cut the jokes, just give the news

Maybe it’s just me but I’m annoyed with the laughing, joking and silliness when listening to the news, weather and sporting events on TV. I think the producers of these shows want the audience to feel that they are a part of what is happening.

I just want the simple facts. Maybe I’m just becoming a grumpy old woman. Ha ha ha!
