Troy Deeney opens up on attribute one Chelsea player has which “scares” the opposition
Troy Deeney has praised Pedro Neto for his performance against Arsenal and believes he showed what a brilliant acquisition he’s been for Chelsea.
The Blues battled to a hard fought draw against the Gunners which saw them move into third in the league heading into the international break.
Gabriel Martinelli had given Arsenal the lead after poor defending from Chelsea, but Neto equalised with a brilliant effort, although Enzo Maresca’s men weren’t able to find a winner.
Deeney praises Neto for Arsenal performance
For the second weekend running Neto was Chelsea’s most dangerous attacker and the player who looked like causing Arsenal the most problems.
The 24-year-old looked dangerous down the left hand side and put in a great cross, which Madueke headed wide, before he set up the best chance of the first half.
Neto did some brilliant work down the left side before whipping a brilliant cross in for Malo Gusto who was running in, but the Frenchman somehow managed to head over with the goal at his mercy.
Neto drew plaudits for his performance and former Premier League striker Deeney believes he’s been a great addition to Chelsea’s squad.
“If you’re a full-back and you’re thinking he could kick it and run, I’ve got trouble so I can’t get too close, but if you get really close to him, he can drop his shoulder and run in behind,” he told Match Of The Day 2.

“Pace scares people. Coming in off that left foot, he can shoot or he can cross, but he’s also got that raw speed which is going to back defenders off. You can see what an acquisition he’s been for Chelsea.”
It was a slow start for Neto but he now appears to have settled in and is delivering the performances expected of him, and right now he seems to have nailed down a place in Chelsea’s strongest starting eleven.
