Travis Konecny of the Philadelphia Flyers suffered an upper-body injury in the first period of Saturday’s contest against the Ottawa Senators after a massive mid-ice hit from Mark Borowiecki.

No penalty was called on the play and Konecny, the team’s leading scorer, stayed on the ice for a few minutes before heading to the dressing room. He did not return to the ice for the rest of the game.

His teammates took vengeance as Jake Voracek fought Nick Paul before Joel Farabee dropped the gloves with Jean-Gabriel Pageau.

Konecny scored his 11th goal of the season before his injury, and now has 28 points in 30 games this season. The Flyers will provide an injury update Monday.
