Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes put out hype videos for Chiefs-Texans playoff game
While talking this week on “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was asked about playoff pressure.
Smith noted the Chiefs won at Buffalo and Baltimore a year ago in the postseason. But the Chiefs are the top seed and will have home-field advantage, beginning with Saturday’s AFC Divisional playoff game against the Houston Texans.
Does that put more pressure on Kelce and the Chiefs?
“I don’t think anybody challenges me more than me,” Kelce said. “You know, I put the expectations on myself and this team more than anybody could put it on us. And that being said, like you were saying, I’ve won in someone else’s stadium, and I’ve won in my stadium. I’ve also lost in my stadium. So handling this situation the right way, playing with the momentum of the crowd, not letting the game get too big.
“I think the biggest thing is, when you have home-field advantage, you’ve got to set the tone early. You’ve got to set the tone early, come out hot and and let the crowd be a part of it, give them something to get riled up for and cheer for, and let the other team feel like they’re in a hostile environment. But it’s all mentality, man. It’s all mentality what we’re doing out on the field. We love Arrowhead and how crazy it gets, but we’ve know we got to handle business on the field.”
If Kelce sounds ready for the playoffs to start, he is. Earlier this week, Kelce released a hype video for the postseason.
Kelce wasn’t alone in releasing a hype video. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes shared one to his Instagram account as well.
This also got Chiefs fans fired up.
The Chiefs also put out a hype video for their pursuit of a third straight Super Bowl title. Here is that video.
