Tottenham player ratings vs Burnley: Pedro Porro stands out as Richarlison struggles

Pedro Porro's wonder-strike 12 minutes from time booked Tottenham's place in the FA Cup fourth-round with a 1-0 home win over Burnley.

With an unwanted replay at Turf Moor beckoning, Porro's dipping effort from 25 yards crept inside the post to earn Spurs a deserved victory on the balance of play.

Ange Postecoglou's side missed absent captain Heung-min Son and lacked a cutting edge in the final third, with Brennan Johnson and Richarlison both missing chances.

Here's how we rated the Spurs players...

Guglielmo Vicario 7

Made a easy stop to deny Wilson Odobert in the first half and was comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Pedro Porro 9

Won the match with a brilliant screamer. Was Spurs' most creative player before then, pinging a number of eye-catching diagonals towards Johnson.

Emerson Royal 6

Relatively untested by Burnley but solid at back in what could be his last appearance at centre-half.

Ben Davies 6

See above. Did well against a Clarets side who lacked bite and finesse in the final third.

Destiny Udogie 7

Got forward well and his link up play with Johnson was bright.

Rodrigo Bentancur 8

The captain for the night was quietly impressive at the base of midfield. His return to fitness ahead of schedule has been a major boost for Spurs.

Oliver Skipp 6

Full of willing running but lacks the creativity to be one of Spurs' No8s in this system.

Dejan Kulusevski 6

Came within an inch of opening the scoring with a curling effort but not at his most influential.

Giovani Lo Celso 6

Had a shot palmed away by Arijanet Muric at the start of the second half before being replace by Gil before the hour. Steady but could not exert the same influence on the game as he did against Bournemouth.

Brennan Johnson 7

Drew three saves from Muric, and was lively down the right, also volleying a Porro cross wide at the far post. Looked the likeliest Spurs player to make the difference before Porro's strike but still lacks conviction in the final third.

Richarlison 5

Failed to step up and fill Heung-min Son's shoes. Might have done better with two left foot efforts after getting the ball stuck under his feet, and failed to get on the end of some inviting crosses.

Subs

Bryan Gil (Lo Celso 58') 6

Lively, and set up a late chance for Sessegnon with a cute pass.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Skipp 77') 7

Added tempo to the midfield for the final 15 minutes and cleared one off the line in the dying embers.

Dane Scarlett (Richarlison 83') 6

Had a sight of goal when he drove into the box and saw a shot deflected wide.

Ryan Sessegnon (Johnson 83') 6

Forced a late save from Muric on his first appearance in 11 months. Understandably looked rusty.

Jamie Donley (Bentancur 83') 6

Another cameo for the promising young forward.

Not used: Forster, Phillips, van de Ven, Dorrington.
