Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

16:05

Arsenal hold on to go four points clear at the top of the table after a 3-2 win over Spurs in the North London derby. The Gunners dominated the first half and were helped out by Hojbjerg, who scored an own goal after just 15 minutes to give them the lead. Romero hit the post and Van de Ven had a goal ruled out for offside before Arsenal scored with both of their shots on target thanks to Saka and Havertz. The second half belonged to Spurs though, as they created an xG of 2.37 compared to Arsenal's 1.08. Raya gifted the hosts their first goal, passing it straight to Romero, who picked out the bottom corner. Son added their second from the spot after Rice fouled Davies, but they just couldn't find a winner. Arteta's side have a four-point lead over City in second, though the Citizens have played two games fewer. Next up for them is Bournemouth. Consecutive defeats for Spurs leave them seven points behind Villa in fourth. They travel to Chelsea next. That's all for today, goodbye!

FULL-TIME: TOTTENHAM 2-3 ARSENAL.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:58

Spurs have everybody apart from Vicario camped out in Arsenal's half, but the Gunners are defending resolutely. Son peels out to the left before fizzing a good cross into the box, but it's too close to Raya.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:57

Rice stops Kulusevski's lightning-quick break, but the winger does brilliantly to make sure Richarlison keeps it going. He's dragged down by White, and Spurs have a free-kick on the left.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:54

Just like in the first half, we're going to have six added minutes. The home fans give a big roar - they think they can get something from this game.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:54

OFF THE LINE! Saka's persistence results in a corner, and Arsenal crowd the six-yard box. Gabriel flicks it on at the near post, and despite having nobody near him, Van de Ven takes no chances by clearing it on the line.

PENALTY TO SPURS! The hosts have another lifeline! Rice was late as he kicked Davies on the back of the leg after the ball was already gone, and after having a look at the monitor, the referee comes back on to point to the spot.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:49

PENALTY SHOUT? There is another penalty shout from Spurs as Davies goes down. Rice kicked through him trying to get to the ball, but completely missed it, catching the defender instead. The referee says no, but surely VAR will have a look at that...

Arsenal's latest attack fizzles out as soon as they get into the final third, and Johnson sets off on another Spurs counter. He checks back before curling a cross towards Richarlison, but Raya comes out to collect.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:40

Spurs are still dominating here, and they win a free-kick on the right. Porro stands over it, but curls his cross behind everyone waiting inside the box.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:40

Yellow Card Dejan Kulusevski

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:38

Porro clips it over the top to Johnson, who flicks a header onto Richarlison. He isn't happy when the offside flag goes up, but he was well past the last defender.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:37

Arsenal are struggling to get it over the halfway line at the moment, despite most of the Spurs players staying high upfield. Partey is the latest to try and advance, but he runs straight into Romero.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:34

Spurs are just that little bit sharper than Arsenal at the moment, and that Romero goal has given them hope. Kulusevski picks Odegaard's pocket, only to overhit the throughball towards Richarlison.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:32

It's brilliant footwork from Odegaard in a tight space in Spurs' box as he loses two players to get to the byline. He pulls it back towards Havertz in the middle, but Van de Ven sticks out a leg to block it.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:31

Romero's goal is the first that Arsenal have conceded away from home in just over 600 minutes of football, with Nottingham Forest the last to breach their defence in January. Raya's mistake also means that he won't keep a clean sheet in seven consecutive away games.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:25

Spurs commit a lot of bodies forward once more, and Odegaard sweeps it out to Saka, who is in acres of space down the right once more. He has to hold it up while he waits for support, which also gives the hosts a chance to get back.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:23

Spurs are the 16th team to concede 50+ Premier League goals this season - this is the most sides to concede 50+ in an English top-flight season consisting of 20 clubs since 1909-10 (17).

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:21

Hojbjerg's weaving run is let down by a heavy touch at the end of it, but Sarr keeps the attack alive by cutting out Partey's clearance. He tees up Porro on the far side of the box, but his shot is well off target.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:20

After a shaky start to the second half, Arsenal are starting to find their rhythm now. They look a real threat down the left - they just need to keep up the quality of their deliveries.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:17

GREAT SAVE! Arsenal break quickly on the counter, with Trossard sliding in Havertz down the left once more. He clips a good cross into the box for Saka to meet first time, but Vicario keeps out the shot with his feet.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:16

Kulusevski intercepts a loose pass from Odegaard before driving into Arsenal's box. He goes over Gabriel's outstretched leg, and the Spurs fans and players are asking another penalty, but nothing is given.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:14

CLOSE! Maddison leaves Partey on the floor as he checks back to pick out Kulusevski, and his first cross is blocked, but he recycles it. He picks out Romero on the second attempt, but he glances his header over.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:12

OVER! It's another great delivery from Rice on a set-piece as he curls a free-kick deep from the right. Tomiyasu is unmarked at the back as he stoops to meet it, but his header sails over the bar.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:09

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

15:06

Arsenal were clinical in the first half, scoring from both of their shots on target after getting a little help for their opener. They managed an xG of just 0.7 from their four efforts, but Arteta won't care about that given the lead they hold. Spurs better their opponents' stats, creating an xG of 0.85 from eight shots, but none were on target. Postecoglou has a big half-time talk ahead of him if Spurs are going to get anything out of this one.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:57

Arsenal are cruising at the break, with a 3-0 lead over Spurs. It was an own goal that got the scoring under way, as Hojbjerg inadvertently headed into his own net from a corner while trying to block off Tomiyasu. Spurs came to life after that though, and Romero thumped a close-range header against the post before Van de Ven rifled a shot into the back of the net, but VAR disallowed it for a tight offside. Saka then punished them with a quick counter before Havertz nodded in their third 10 minutes later. Despite being the better side for large parts of the first half, Spurs now have a measly 0.4 per cent chance of winning the game according to the live win probability, and just a two per cent chance of salvaging a draw.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:53

HALF-TIME: TOTTENHAM 0-3 ARSENAL.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:52

Spurs are finding a lot of space down their right side, but Arsenal are efficiently clearing any crosses into the box. Kulusevski and Porro both sees deliveries blocked, though the latter does win a corner.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:50

Despite their dominance, Spurs still haven't managed a single shot on target in this game. Maddison has three attempts at putting a throughball into the box for Son, but Saliba was equal to each of them.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:49

We're into the first of six added minutes at the end of the first half. Spurs are still pushing forward, but Arsenal look a lot more comfortable dropping deep to defend now that they're 3-0 up.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:48

OVER! That was the chance to pull one back! It's a lovely pass over the top from Porro to pick out Son between the centre-backs, but with Raya rushing out and Saliba closing in, the forward blazes his shot high over the bar.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:44

Arsenal have stormed into a 3-0 lead here, and it's the second quickest 3+ goal lead in a Premier League North London derby by either side, behind only the Gunners' 3-0 lead against Spurs in September 2021 after 34 minutes.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:43

Spurs are still committing a lot of bodies forward as they try to pull a goal back, but it's just not clicking for them in the final third. Kulusevski peels out wide on the right, but there's nobody to aim for in the box.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:39

Assist Declan Rice

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:38

Another patient Spurs move sees it switched out to the left, and Johnson slides it down the left for Bentancur to chase. He's forced slightly wide by White, and can't keep the throughball in play.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:37

Spurs are still keeping Arsenal penned back inside their own half, but by committing so many bodies forward, they're leaving themselves exposed when the Gunners counter. Trossard drives down the left again, but can't pick out Havertz.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:35

Saka is the first Arsenal player to score home and away against Spurs in a Premier League season since Alexandre Lacazette in 2019-20, and the first Englishman since Ian Wright in 1993-94.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:32

Odegaard is back on his feet, but Spurs have a problem too as Werner is down. It looks like a muscle problem, and they're not going to take any chances with him as Johnson gets ready.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:32

Substitution Timo Werner Brennan Price Johnson

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:31

Arsenal scramble away another Spurs corner, and Odegaard stays down holding his face after turning into Bentancur's shoulder. He needs treatment before he can carry on.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:28

Despite the warning signs in the last few minutes, Arsenal are still struggling to smother Spurs' threat. Maddison and Son both try to trick their way into the box, and the visitors are scrambling.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:26

NO GOAL! It's a very tight call, but Van de Ven's left foot was just past the last defender. VAR had to have a long look at that one to put the lines in, but the goal is chalked out, and Spurs are still 1-0 down!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:26

VAN DE VEN SCORES! But will it count? It's been coming for the last few minutes, and another Maddison corner is only half dealt with by the visitors. Partey's hooked clearance goes straight to Kulusevski, who drills it through the crowd of players on the edge of the box. It pinballs to Van de Ven's feet, and he rifles it past Raya into the net. VAR is having a look at this though...

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:24

Goal Micky van de Ven

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:23

OFF THE POST! Another Spurs set-piece causes chaos in the Arsenal box! Maddison takes the free-kick from just outside the box on the left and picks out Romero, who rises highest at the far post. He thumps his header straight against the woodwork. Spurs are getting closer!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:22

JUST WIDE! Romero wants it more than Odegaard as he races to the edge of the six-yard box to meet Maddison's corner. The defender flicks a header on towards the far post, but it flies just wide of the target.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:20

Spurs go for a direct route from the kick-off, with Werner carrying it a long way down the left. He drills another good low cross into the box, but again, Raya gets to it first.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:16

Own goal Pierre-Emile Kordt Højbjerg

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:16

NO GOAL! Odegaard darts through the middle of Spurs' centre-backs to bring down Partey's long ball over the top. He threads it into Havertz, who fires his shot through Vicario to pick out the bottom corner, but the Norwegian was offside so it won't count.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:15

CHANCE! Trossard drops deep to help out his defence, only to take a heavy touch and then slip in the box. Kulusevski nicks it off him, but again, Spurs are slow to work space for a shot. Eventually, Maddison tries his luck from range but curls it high and wide.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:13

Odegaard steps up to take the free-kick and is trying to curl it into the top-left corner. He doesn't get enough height on the shot though, and it's blocked by the Spurs wall.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:13

Arsenal move it quicker this time, with Odegaard picking out Trossard on the left of the box. Porro blocks his way to goal, so it's worked back to Partey, who wins a free-kick when Maddison drags him back.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:10

It's good play from Spurs down their left side as Maddison sweeps it out to Werner. He dummies a cross to lose White before drilling it into the box, but it's too close to Raya.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:08

Son intercepts Tomiyasu's loose pass, but Spurs don't seem to be in any hurry to get in front of goal. Maddison plays it back to Hojbjerg, and when it comes back to the Englishman, he overhits the throughball to Werner.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:07

Spurs are keeping possession well in the opening minutes here, but it's all in front of Arsenal. They're trying to get settled and find a way through the Gunners' high press.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:04

Kulusevski does well to get in front of Tomiyasu to stop him from being able to get a cross into the box. The left-back is too heavy-handed trying to push Kulusevski off it, and the referee gives Spurs a free-kick.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:01

Maddison gets the game under way for Spurs!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

14:01

The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away!

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

13:57

Unsurprisingly, Arteta sticks with the same starting line-up that thrashed Chelsea in midweek. Both Havertz and Trossard got on the scoresheet, so Jesus and Martinelli have to settle for a place on the bench once more.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

13:57

Ange Postecoglou makes three changes to the side that lost to Newcastle last Saturday. Davies, Hojbjerg and Kulusevski are all brought in, while Porro is deemed fit to retain his place. Bissouma and Johnson drop to the bench, but Destiny Udogie is out for the season after picking up a quad injury in that game.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

13:42

Arsenal still sit top of the table and have the chance to go four points clear of Manchester City below them with a win here. The Gunners bounced back from defeats to Aston Villa in the Premier League and Bayern Munich in the Champions League with back-to-back victories against Wolves and Chelsea, thrashing the latter 5-0 on Tuesday. They won this exact fixture 2-0 last season, but haven't won consecutive games against Spurs since 1987-88 (a run of three).

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

13:37

Spurs' hopes of finishing in the top four took a hit last weekend as they suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Newcastle United, and after Aston Villa's draw with Chelsea yesterday, they're now seven points behind the Villans, though they do have games in hand. They're in good form at home, losing just one of their last eight (W7), but winning the last three in a row. When it comes to their North London rivals though, they've only beaten them in one of their last six Premier League meetings (D1 L4), losing the last four in a row.
