Tottenham confirm Wilson Odobert hamstring surgery with winger facing extended spell out
Tottenham winger Wilson Odobert is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after having hamstring surgery.
Ange Postecoglou revealed last month that the £25million summer signing suffered a “serious” setback in his recovery from injury.
And Spurs have now confirmed Odobert has undergone surgery.
In a statement, Tottenham said: "We can confirm that Wilson Odobert underwent surgery to his right hamstring yesterday (Saturday, November 16).
"The 19-year-old will continue to be closely monitored by our medical team to determine when he can return to training."
Odobert has made just five appearances for Spurs since joining from Burnley in the summer, three starts and two substitute appearances.
He returned as a substitute against AZ Alkmaar last Thursday after more than a month out with a hamstring issue.
But he has not featured since after suffered a setback and is facing an extended spell out.
Spurs are assessing Micky van de Ven ahead of their trip to Manchester City next weekend.
Van de Ven has not joined up with the Netherlands squad due to his latest hamstring issue, which he sustained against City in the Carabao Cup last month.
The centre-back missed games against Aston Villa, Galatasaray and Ipswich.
