Tottenham in advanced talks with Bayern Munich over £50m Mathys Tel deal
Tottenham are in advanced talks with Bayern Munich over a permanent deal for forward Mathys Tel, with optimism a fee of around £50million can be agreed.
Spurs are still waiting for the green light from the 19-year-old, who is attracting interest from a host of other Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Aston Villa.
Spurs, though, have pushed ahead in pursuing Tel, with their technical director Johan Lange flying to Munich on Wednesday for face-to-face discussions with Bayern and the forward's camp.
Tel has been given permission to leave Bayern this month in search of more regular first team football and appeared to say goodbye to supporters after a rare start in Wednesday's Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava.
Spurs are in the market for a versatile new forward this month after a slew of injuries to Ange Postecoglou's attackers, with Dominic Solanke, Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner are all currently sidelined.
On Wednesday, Postecoglou insisted that no signings were "imminent" but said he expected Spurs to be involved in a "frenetic" end to the January transfer window.
