Maple Leafs' Mitch Marner to miss a minimum of four weeks with ankle injury
The Toronto Maple Leafs have not been able to put out a healthy lineup for a single game this season.
After leaving Saturday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers, Leafs forward Mitch Marner will miss at least four weeks due to an ankle injury, the team announced on Sunday.
Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner underwent an MRI exam today after sustaining an ankle injury in last night’s game vs. PHI.

The star winger took an awkward tumble in the second period. Shortly thereafter, it believed that he may be dealing with an equipment issue. However, after future attempts to play, it was clear that he was dealing with some sort of injury.
Marner will be heading to the Long-Term Injured Reserve, marking the Dec. 4 game against the Colorado Avalanche as his earliest return. This transaction will open up roughly $8.8-million worth of cap space, if the Leafs decide to make a corresponding move to use that newfound flexibility.
This loss comes at an unfortunate time for the club. Defenceman Travis Dermott and center John Tavares recently made their returns from injury and winger Zach Hyman is set to play his season debut in the coming weeks. Now with Marner out, the team will have to wait at least another month until they can ice a complete team.
Through 18 games played this season, Marner has four goals and 18 points.
