Toronto FC ready to release Insigne amid Serie A interest
According to Gazzetta, Insigne and Toronto FC have agreed to part company this month. The 33-year-old’s deal runs out in 2026, and his €15m-a-year salary is the highest in the MLS after Leo Messi, who earns €20m at Miami FC.
Insigne has scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists in 63 appearances with Toronto FC, but hasn’t won any trophy in Canada, so the two parties are expected to split in the coming weeks.
According to Gazzetta, Fiorentina, Lazio, and Como are among the clubs interested in the ex-Napoli star, while Olympiacos dream of bringing the winger to Greece. Saudi and UAE clubs are also monitoring the situation.
It’s been previously reported that Fiorentina are the favourite to secure Insigne’s signature this month.
Insigne recently admitted he still aims to play for Italy’s national team and feature in the 2026 World Cup.
