Torino are advancing in the negotiation to sign Marko Arnautovic, as they have found more room to maneuver in this case than for Giovanni Simeone. The Granata lost Duvan Zapata to an ACL early in the season.

According to TuttoSport, they appreciate his leadership skills in particular. Plus, he’s similar to their injured star skills-wise. They’ll have to convince him to leave his cozy perch. The fact that he’s playing very sparingly helps. They hope he’ll ask out to be a regular.

On the other hand, Torino will need to meet the contractual demands by Arnautovic to lure him. He’ll make €1.7M in the final six months of his contract. The Granata are willing to offer 2.7M in an 18-month deal. It’d be a pay cut relative to the €3.5M annual wages he’s had since joining Inter.

Instead, the Nerazzurri wouldn’t demand a fee since he’s a deep option and will leave on a free at the end of the season anyway. They wouldn’t need to replace him having also Mehdi Taremi and Joaquin Correa behind their two stars.

Instead, Napoli continue to resist for Giovanni Simeone. While they could accept a loan with an obligation to buy, the total valuation is about €15M.

Our Take on Torino, Arnautovic, and Simeone

Landing the former would be a nice outcome for all parties, and they don’t seem too distant. They should probably be ambitious and go for a twofer, as Antonio Sanabria and Ché Adams have been pretty underwhelming in the last few months. They cashed in plenty with the Alessandro Buongiorno and Raoul Bellanova deals last summer and didn’t reinvest a lot.
