This top 35 PGA Tour player has withdrawn from 2025 Farmers Insurance Open

Add a fifth name to the list of subtractions from the 2025 Farmers Insurance Open.

Akshay Bhatia on Monday withdrew from the event, scheduled to start Wednesday at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California. Bhatia tied for 32nd in the season-opening The Sentry at Kapalua and was in the United Arab Emirates over the weekend, where he tied for 37th at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. He said playing that event was on his bucket list.

His spot in the 156-man field in the Farmers will go to fellow lefty Garrick Higgo. Here's a look so far at the Farmers WDs:

  • Nicolai Hojgaard out, Hayden Springer in

  • Collin Morikawa out, Wesley Bryan in

  • Tyler McCumber out, S.H. Kim in

  • Mackenzie Hughes out, Pierceson Coody in

  • Akshay Bhatia out, Garrick Higgo in

Higgo withdrew from the Korn Ferry Tour's Bahamas Great Abaco Classic after a first-round 72, which was only four shots off the lead. That event started Sunday and is scheduled to conclude Wednesday, the same day as the first round of the Farmers.
