Top 10 Italy players in Serie A – Barella leads
Inter star Nicolò Barella is the best Italian player in Serie A in the opening 18 rounds.
The ratings are generated by average player ratings from Italian sports papers, considering footballers with at least 50% of appearances.
As reported by Fantacalcio, Barella has the highest average player rating in the league in the opening 18 rounds, 6,64, slightly above Fiorentina’s Kean (6,56) and Federico Dimarco (6,53).
Inter place three players in the top five, completed by Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui, who is currently out of action due to an injury.
The Italian striker was the best Azzurri scorer in 2024 and will miss the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana semifinal against Inter.
Antonio Conte’s Napoli have two players among the top 10 Italian performers in Serie A so far: Alessandro Buongiorno and Alex Meret.
Another goalkeeper, Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi, makes the top 10 with a 6,35 rating.
The top 10 is completed by Lazio captain Mattia Zaccagni and Empoli talent Sebastiano Esposito, scorer of six goals in Serie A this term.
