Tom Izzo's 90-year-old mom visits the Spartans' locker room after overtime win

Tom Izzo was so pumped after Michigan State’s 75-74 overtime win over Minnesota on Tuesday night that he brought a special guest to give the players congratulatory hugs.

Izzo walked into the Spartans’ locker room after the game and shouted “Hey guys, I got my 90-year-old mother here!” The Spartans responded with an enthusiastic roar and leapt up to give Izzo’s mother, Dorothy, a hug.

Great post game scene in the victorious MSU locker room as the Spartans received a visit from Coach Izzo's 90-year old mother Dorothy.

It was a game worth celebrating for Michigan State. After being down by 13 at the half, the Spartans — led by senior Alvin Ellis III’s 20 points and freshman Nick Ward’s 22 points — battled back to open Big Ten play with a victory. Michigan State will host Northwestern on Friday.
