Tom Brady reveals that he almost signed with Bears in 2020
The Chicago Bears are the only NFL team to never have a 4,000-yard passer. They have been notoriously recognized as the franchise that's never had a great quarterback. All of that could've changed during 2020 free agency. Not only could the Bears have landed a good quarterback, they could've landed a player that is highly regarded as the best quarterback to ever play the game.
While calling the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 4 matchup for FOX Sports, future Hall of Famer Tom Brady talked about his 2020 free agency. Brady brought out his "pros and cons" notecards he made for teams, and said that Tampa's weather, location, facilites, Bruce Arians and the Buccaneers players attracted him to signing with them. But behind his Buccaneers notecard, he had one labeled "Chicago".
"Chicago was a team, and I've never told that story before, they were very stealth in their recruitment," Brady said. "I was seriously considering them, but in the end, it came down to Tampa."

Erik Kramer's 1995 season with 3,838 yards and 29 touchdowns is considered the best quarterback single season in Bears history. The majority of Brady's career would overshadow that. Brady threw for over 4,000 yards 14 different times and for over 30 touchdowns nine times. He also had eight seasons surpassing 4,000 yards and throwing for at least 30 touchdowns.
The what-ifs are infinite when thinking about Brady being a Bear, but, a what-if is all it'll ever be.
