Who they're for: Golfers who want more short-game versatility, who play in firm conditions or who have a shallow angle of attack.

What you should know: This low-bounce, wide-sole wedge is designed to help players keep the leading edge down on square-faced short-game shots while offering extra effective bounce in rough and sand.

The deep dive: The Titleist Vokey Design SM10 wedge lineup features a wide variety of lofts and several sole configurations, or grinds, tailored to perform differently through the turf. For instance, the F Grind has a straight, full sole that makes it behave like an extension of a player’s iron set. In contrast, the D Grind has material removed from the heel and toe, making it easier to open the face and slide the leading edge under the ball on tight lies.

The K Grind has traditionally offered the widest sole among the six available grinds at retail, along with 14 degrees of bounce, making it a go-to option for escaping greenside bunkers and thick rough.

However, Titleist also has provided a low-bounce version of the K Grind to tour players and through its boutique wedge division, WedgeWorks. That version, the 58.06K and 60.06K, is now part of the retail SM10 lineup and will be available in stores by early March.

The back flange of the 58.06K (left) does down significantly less than the bounce on the 58.14K on the right.

The leading edge of a low-bounce wedge sits closer to the ground, making it a strong choice for firm turf or compacted sand. While Titleist has previously offered other low-bounce options, such as the L Grind and T Grind, those wedges feature thinner, crescent-shaped soles.

The 58.06K and 60.06K retain the wide sole of the standard K Grind but pair it with just 6 degrees of bounce. This design helps players keep the leading edge down for chip and pitch shots from a square stance while offering additional “effective bounce” when the face is opened, enhancing versatility in rough and sand.

The low-bounce K Grind wedges are only available as lob wedges, with 58 or 60 degrees of loft. They come in Tour Chrome, Jet Black and Nickel finishes and are equipped with True Temper Dynamic Gold S200 steel shafts and Titleist Universal 360 grips.
