Titans complete 2nd interview with Bears' Ian Cunningham for GM
Chicago Bears assistant general manager Ian Cunningham is once again a hot commodity in this GM cycle as his current organization conducts their search for a new head coach.
The Tennessee Titans announced they have completed an in-person interview with Cunningham for their vacant general manager position. It marked the team's second interview with Cunningham after a virtual interview Tennessee brass on Sunday.
Cunningham is one of six candidates who made it to the second round, which also includes Buffalo Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray, Tampa Bay Buccaneers assistant GM John Skytek, Kansas City Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borgonzi, Indianapolis Colts assistant GM Ed Dodds and Green Bay Packers VP of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan.
Cunningham has been with the Bears since 2022, and he's now interviewed for vacant GM jobs in the last three offseasons. That includes last year when he was passed over for the Washington Commanders Head of Football Ops job, which went to Adam Peters. Cunningham was a finalist for the Titans job back in 2023, which went to Ran Carthon who was just fired, and reportedly turned down the Arizona Cardinals job back in 2023.
If Cunningham departs for a GM job, the Bears will get two third-round picks over the next two NFL drafts (2025, 2026). But they would also be losing an important part of their front office and Ryan Poles' right-hand man.
