Molendyk, a fifth-overall selection by Saskatoon in the 2020 WHL Draft, spent 210 games over five seasons with the Blades and totaled 134 points. A product of Kamloops, B.C. he was picked 24th overall in the 2023 NHL draft by Nashville and has been an assistant captain since the 2023-24 season. After missing the 2024 World Juniors tournament due to injury, Molendyk made a return in 2025 to represent team Canada whewre they were eliminated in the Quarterfinals by Team Czechia.

Also in the trade, Volotovskii spent 195 games with Saskatoon after being drafted 77th overall in the 2020 WHL Draft while collecting 35 total points.

In return, Medicine Hat parts ways with Kachkowski and Harsanyi, who combined for 133 WHL games, all with the Tigers. Harsanyi last played on Oct. 11 against the Brandon Wheat Kings where he tallied two assists, but has been out since then due to injury. He will look to make a speedy return to the lineup, and make an immediate impact in Saskatoon.
