Tidser absent for Kelty again as Dunfermline talks continue

Player-manager Michael Tidser was absent from Kelty Hearts' dugout for a second game running, with caretaker Tam O'Ware suggesting negotiations over compensation for his switch to Dunfermline Athletic are "no further on".

But the Kelty captain believes the Fife neighbours could still soon come to an agreement.

Kelty drew 0-0 at home to Stenhousemuir on Saturday, a result that leaves them third in Scottish League 1, one point behind the visitors and three adrift of Arbroath.

Asked about the progress of talks with Dunfermline, O'Ware told BBC Alba: "Still no further on. As a team, we're not really focusing on that just now.

"I'm sure the clubs will be in discussions over the weekend and hopefully have that sorted next week so there's more clarity for the players."

Tidser was also missing from the dugout for last Saturday's goalless draw away to Montrose.

However, O'Ware pointed out that the uncertainty over the team boss had not prevented deals to extend contracts this week for forward Craig Johnston and left-back Brody Paterson.

Dunfermline, sitting second bottom of the Championship, are next in action at home to second-top Ayr United on Tuesday, the match having been moved from Saturday to avoid freezing temperatures.

The Pars have drawn 3-3 at home to leaders Falkirk and beaten fourth-top Partick Thistle 4-1 away from home in their two games under caretaker John McLaughlan.
