Thuram injury update confirms Supercoppa fear for Inter
Inter have released a statement confirming Marcus Thuram has no serious muscular injury, but he remains a huge doubt for the Supercoppa Italiana Final against Milan.
It kicks off at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Monday January 6 at 19.00 GMT.
Thuram limped off at half-time during the 2-0 semi-final victory over Atalanta after feeling a twinge in his thigh.
The club medical staff confirmed today that Thuram has undergone tests and been diagnosed only with a slight elongation of the adductors in his left thigh.
The situation will continue to be evaluated and a final decision should come tomorrow as to whether he can play in the Supercoppa Final.
Inter unlikely to risk Thuram
Considering there is a packed fixture list coming up, including Serie A and the Champions League, it is very unlikely that Simone Inzaghi will consider risking the star striker.
Mehdi Taremi is ready to step into the starting XI alongside Lautaro Martinez, with Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic also alternatives.
Benjamin Pavard and Francesco Acerbi are not part of the squad for the Supercoppa, also due to muscular issues.
