Three WHLers Announce NCAA Commitments
Just a few days after it was announced that CHLers would be allowed to compete in the NCAA after aging out of the league, three WHLers announced their commitments for next season. Beau Courtney, Brayden Crampton and Braxton Whitehead will be headed to NCAA schools starting in 2025-26. All four players are 2004-born and have played at least 185 games during their WHL careers.
Courtney will be spending next season in Alaska at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The Everett Silvertips forward has seven points in 18 games and is part of the Silvertips leadership group this season. In 185 career WHL games, Courtney has 33 goals to go alongside 65 points.
Crampton will attend Bowling Green University next season. The program should sound familiar to WHL fans, as it is currently run by former Everett coach and GM Dennis Williams. The Spokane Chiefs defenceman recently played his 200th career WHL game and has 16 points in 20 games this season.
Lastly, Whitehead has announced his commitment to Arizona State University. He has spent his entire career with the Regina Pats and has worn an "A" for the last three seasons. In 211 career games, Whitehead has scored 40 goals and recorded 103 points.
