Three people killed, one badly injured in Memorial Day weekend crash in Fayetteville

Three people were killed and another critically injured in a crash on the north side of Fayetteville early Saturday evening.

Police say the crash happened on Murichison Road at Harbor Road at about 5:13 p.m. They said three people were pronounced dead at the scene and a fourth was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said they were not releasing the names of those involved in the crash until their families could be notified.

The crash closed a section of Murchison Road, which is also N.C. 210, in both directions between Country Club and Shaw Mill roads.

Police have not released additional information about the crash. They are working to determine what caused the collision and ask anyone with information to contact Officer Biggerstaff at 910-751-1382.
