Thomas Brown believes his approach in the building will impress Bears management
With the Chicago Bears' search for their next head coach currently underway, they'll give an opportunity to former interim head coach Thomas Brown to interview for the job.
Currently, the Bears have a reported list of 16 candidates (and counting) who will interview for the job, including Brown, in what is going to be a wide and extensive search for the most important decision by general manager Ryan Poles in his tenure.
While there are other names, specifically Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel who are expected to be high atop the priority list for the Bears vacancy, Brown will still get his chance.
An opportunity to speak with the Poles and upper management, including team president Kevin Warren and chairman George McCaskey, will give Brown the opportunity to speak about how the season played out for him and give his insights he picked up while being on the inside.
"I think having a chance to lay out my whole vision, the plan I have for this football team moving forward is going to be part of it," Brown said about what he hopes to show in his meeting with upper management. "Them having a chance to see me in the building is something that, to me, should be more impressive than everything else. I think the approach I've had every single day in the building, the mentality I brought to the group [should stand out]."
There's no denying that Brown did not have the success that would have given him an edge in the search for the next head coach, but he could provide plenty of valuable insight to the decision makers. Whether it be what he learned as interim head coach or everything he saw throughout his rise to the position, Brown should be able to speak plenty on the good and the bad he experienced in his tenure.
