Juventus coach Thiago Motta was shown a straight red card and was sent to the stands just a few moments before Juventus fell two goals behind in their Serie A match at home against Bologna on Saturday evening.

The incident occurred in the 51st minute at the Allianz Stadium. Substitute Jonas Rouhi had stopped Dan Ndoye from breaking down the right wing with a cynical challenge.

Referee Matteo Marchetti reached for a yellow card to show to Rouhi and then reached for a red card immediately afterwards, which was shown to Motta, presumably for a particularly strong case of dissent.

Motta had also made several first-half protests, which did not go down well with the officials, and according to reports from Calciomercato.com, the Bianconeri coach had complained about what he saw as one-sided officiating.

Marchetti had a couple of big calls to make during the first half of Juventus-Bologna as well. Bianconeri defender Pierre Kalulu avoided being sent off despite bringing down Jens Odgaard as the last man before the goalkeeper.

Kalulu avoided punishment as he did not technically deny a clear and obvious goalscoring opportunity, as Mattia Perin was also racing off his line to come and collect the ball just before Odgaard hit the deck.
