The Rush: Bucks’ boycott leads to historic day in sports world, and possible end of NBA season

WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE to see today’s piping-hot, fresh-outta-the-oven episode of THE RUSH with Jared Quay! We’ll let you know everything you didn’t know you needed to know about sports. Other stuff too. But mostly sports.

It’s Thursday, August 27, 2020 and here’s what Jared’s cooking up:

  • The Milwaukee Bucks boycott Game 5 of their series against the Orlando Magic, starting a chain of events culminating in the NBA players meeting.

  • An emotional meeting between all the NBA players inside the bubble over how to protest for Jacob Blake reportedly resulted in a frustrated LeBron James walking out, followed by the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers after leaning toward cancelling the rest of their postseason runs.

  • In wake of the Bucks’ boycott, the NBA and WNBA postponed the rest of Wednesday’s games, and Thursday’s games are in jeopardy of being cancelled.

  • Several current and former NFL players spoke out on Twitter in support of the Bucks, and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll praised the NBA players for taking a stand.

THE RUSH will be back tomorrow! Until then, stay safe and don’t forget to check out our previous episodes here.
