Texas Stars Forward Cameron Hughes Named AHL Player Of The Week

Texas Stars forward Cameron Hughes has been named AHL Player of the Week after posting four goals and four assists in three games in the week ending Jan. 12.

Hughes' big week, including a hat trick against the Milwaukee Admirals and four points against the Rockford IceHogs, helped Texas go 3-0 on their road-trip.

Originally a sixth round pick of the Boston Bruins, Hughes sits fourth on the Stars in scoring with 15 goals and 31 points in 32 games this season.

In parts of eight AHL season Hughes has notched 97 goals and 257 points in 356 games.

The 28-year-old is pointless in two career NHL games, both with the Bruins.

Hughes signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Dallas Stars in July.
