Tension between Roma and Lorenzo Pellegrini at all-time high after De Rossi’s sacking

Lorenzo Pellegrini was just as upset with Roma sacking Daniele De Rossi as the fans planning to boycott Sunday’s match with Udinese.

One of the first to not like either the decision or the way in which it happened was in fact the Roma skipper.

According to Corriere dello Sport, on the day of De Rossi’s dismissal, Pellegrini went to the management to ask to reconsider the decision.

The club, however, remained unmoved.

In addition to the captain, another small group of players, including Mancini, also tried to convince the owners to take a rethink it.

Another element, however, seems to have unleashed Pellegrini’s anger: there was an apparent phone call a few days ago in which some Roma players were asked what they thought of the possibility of a dismissal, but neither Pellegrini nor Mancini had been contacted by the club.

The newspaper states that tension between Pellegrini and the club is at an all-time high right now.
