The Ted Cruz curse has Texas fans VERY nervous about his JD Vance bet

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS - OCTOBER 18: U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) speaks during a bus tour campaign rally at the Shiner Park venue on October 18, 2024 in College Station, Texas. With less than 20 days to go, Cruz continues facing off against Democratic Senate candidate U.S. Rep. Colin Allred in a tightening race ahead of the November 5 general election. Texas senator Ted Cruz thinks he's doing the right thing by betting with the soon-to-be Vice President J.D. Vance on the Longhorns beating Ohio State on Friday night in the College Football Playoff game in the Cotton Bowl.

But he is not. Because there's the Ted Cruz Curse to contend with.

You see, whenever Cruz shows up to a game -- see, the Texas A&M loss to Notre Dame, that time Texas Tech lost to Virginia, the Rockets' Game 7 loss to the Warriors and so on -- the Lone Star State team tends to lose.

The good news for Longhorns fans: he just made a bet with Vance, so maybe that doesn't count as invoking the curse. We'll see though! Texas die-hards are nervous.
