TCU women’s basketball provides update on status of Sedona Prince

In the wake of allegations of physical and verbal abuse towards star center Sedona Prince, TCU women’s basketball has a decision regarding her status for the upcoming season.

A school spokesperson told the Star-Telegram on Monday morning that “(Prince)‘s status as an active member on the team is intact.”

A change.org petition was launched last week calling for Prince to be immediately removed from the TCU roster after her ex-girlfriend Olivia Stabile detailed allegations of abuse on TikTok. Stabile has over 700,000 followers on TikTok and uploaded a 10-part series of videos recapping a recent trip to Mexico for Prince’s birthday.

The petition had over 150,000 signatures on Sunday and has gained over 12,000 in less than 24 hours. For now, it looks like TCU has no plans to remove one of its most impactful players from the roster. Prince averaged 19.7 points and 9.7 rebounds last season and was the first big-time transfer to give coach Mark Campbell and the Horned Frogs a chance.
