Taylor Hall Was Visibly Upset Following Blackhawks Winter Classic Loss

The St. Louis Blues blew out the Chicago Blackhawks at the Winter Classic. The final score was 6-2, and the home team never really had a chance to win at Wrigley Field.

After the game, no one was harder on the situation than Taylor Hall. One of the Chicago's two goal scorers was visibly upset after the game when talking about the blowout loss.

"I’m shocked at how we played. It’s just so disappointing" Taylor Hall said on the loss. "Our fans have been through so much this year and they really came and supported us today. For us to lay an egg like that, I'm really sad for the people that support us"

Taylor Hall recognizes that the fans put a lot into coming to games, especially to an event like the Winter Classic. He doesn't like letting them down which they did on Tuesday evening.

Hall took it a bit harder than everyone else but the tone was somber for everyone in the Chicago Cubs (Blackhawks) clubhouse after the game. This being the third straight game in which they were blown out makes it worse.

"It's a big stage. It's just disappointing." Hall went on to say. "I love the guys in here and I love some of the kids that we're bringing up. They're great, they're awesome, and we have a lot of really good people in here. We just can't play like that."

Hall may have scored one of Chicago's goals but he certainly wasn't happy with himself either. He is upset about how the team played but he believes that he is a part of the problem too.

"It's nice, you want to contribute, you want to score, and you only get to play in so many of these." Taylor Hall when asked about having a good moment in the game. "That was a big goal at the time but looking back, I end the game -3, really probably not a very positive contributor to what we're doing so in saying all of this, I'm just as big a part of it as anyone. It's just disappointing."

Taylor Hall has had a great career up to this point. He's been a number one pick in the draft, has won a Hart Trophy as league MVP, and has scored some big goals in his hockey career. Hall has every reason to be a proud guy which makes games like this hard.

So where do Hall and the Blackhawks go from here? They have to scrap it and move on. They have a hot Montreal Canadiens team coming to the United Center on Friday for a big Original Six matchup.

Nothing that has happened recently matters once that puck has dropped. They have had some good moments at times this year and they need to channel some of that as they move into 2025.
