Taylor Hall Believes That He Will Be Traded Before Deadline

The 2024-25 Chicago Blackhawks are in the conversation for being the worst team in the National Hockey League. They hoped to be better when they made their off-season moves last summer but it hasn’t worked out for them.

Nobody thought that they would be legit playoff contenders but there was a thought that they could take a step forward with Connor Bedard’s improvement.

Now, after failing to meet those expectations as a team, they need to move on and prepare for the future. That means selling off some assets ahead of the trade deadline.

Any veteran player set to become a UFA this summer is likely to be gone if they have value. One of those guys is forward Taylor Hall. This isn’t just the typical speculation either as Hall admitted that he may be moved soon.

“I came into this year wanting to be a Blackhawk for years to come. I don’t know if that’s going to be the case anymore.” Hall said after practice on Wednesday.

Hall has never been shy about telling the truth. Throughout his career, he never failed to say how he felt out loud. He did just that with his quotes about his future with the Blackhawks.

This didn’t just come out of nowhere either. Hall had to have sat down with the management team to discuss his future. He wants to stay but the team has a direction and they are going to stick to their plan.

Taylor Hall is a depth player at this point in his NHL career. He isn’t the number one pick/Hart Trophy winner he once was but he can still contribute offense at a medium level. A contender with high-end scoring at the top of the lineup would love to add a guy like Hall to the middle-six.

The return for Hall won’t be a needle mover regarding the rebuild for Chicago but they might be able to get something nice that can help along the way. A trade seems inevitable after these comments.
