Tampa Bay Lightning Pledge an Additional $1 Million Toward Hurricane Relief

The Tampa Bay Lightning announced at Sunday’s game vs the Montreal Canadiens that the Tampa Bay Strong 50/50 Raffle, exceeded $1 million in total funds raised to support local hurricane relief efforts in the Tampa Bay Area.

The initiative adds to the team’s $2 million commitment which was led by Owner and Chairman Jeff Vinik. Captain Victor Hedman and his wife, Sanna also personally donated $150,000.

In addition to fundraising, the Lightning supported the Tampa Bay community through a combination of game-day activations, volunteer outings, and encouraging fans to donate to the Lightning Foundation.

Half of the $1,058,895 that was raised through Tampa Bay Strong 50/50 Raffle, is going to one lucky winner while the remaining half will benefit local nonprofits.

All funds raised will be matched by the Lightning Foundation, which doubles the impact of every ticket purchased. Proceeds of the Tampa Bay Strong 50/50 Raffle will benefit local nonprofits severely affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, including YMCA, A Kid’s Place, LiFT, Team Rubicon, Ronald McDonald House and Habitat for Humanity Hillsborough County.
