Sheary notched four goals and 15 points in 57 games with the Lightning while dealing with an injured hand last season. He did not appear in any of the team's five playoff games
A two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Sheary inked a three-year deal with Tampa Bay on July 1st 2023 that pays him $2-million per season through 2025-26.
Syracuse looks solid and have a 3-2 record after five games. Sheary should help the team offensively while he works to get his game back into form.

Sheary has not spent any time in the AHL since the 2015-16 season when he recorded 36 points in 30 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton before being called-up and joining Pittsburgh on their cup run.
His first chance to appear in a game comes when Syracuse face-off against Sheary's former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins team on Friday and Saturday.
