Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has on Monday forwarded a public message to young teammate Vitor Roque.

As much, of course, comes amid the ongoing speculation, pointing towards an imminent exit for Roque from Catalunya’s capital.

The Brazilian international has struggled badly for game-time at Barcelona, since his highly-anticipated January arrival.

After failing to convince previous manager Xavi, Roque is not understood to have fared much better under the watch of Hansi Flick, giving rise to widespread claims in the media that the 19-year-old, for all intents and purposes, can be considered as up for sale.

Speaking to the media whilst in attendance alongside Roque at the club’s pre-season tour of the USA, the aforementioned Lewandowski, in turn, was asked if he has any advice for his young teammate.

This comes with the Pole boasting ample experience when it comes to succeeding in front of goal at the continent’s top clubs.

And Lewandowski, in his response, defended Roque, before urging the talented striker to trust in his own abilities:

“Signing to Barça from Brazil is a big jump. It’s a different culture. Portuguese is similar to Spanish, but it’s not the same. He has to trust himself and work hard. He has the talent to succeed, but what happens depends on him.”
