Swindon Town left-back Billy Kirkman has been ruled out for four to six weeks with a knee injury.

The 20-year-old sprained his medial collateral ligament in the Robins' 2-0 win over Barrow on Saturday.

Speaking after the game, Swindon boss Ian Holloway told BBC Radio Wiltshire the injury "didn't look good" due to a previous injury to Kirkman's MCL.

"You lose stability. He had it on his other knee and he felt it was the same, that's why he looked so desperate," he said.

"And that's the only downer for me. He's been exceptional."

The club confirmed the extent of the injury in a post on their official X account on Wednesday.

Swindon have won six of their 27 League Two games and are 19th in the table.

Kirkman has made 22 appearances for the Robins this season, scoring one goal.
