Suspicious Package At Lionsgate Offices Prompts FBI Investigation

A package containing a suspicious powdery substance was discovered in the first-floor mailroom of Lionsgate’s Santa Monica headquarters Thursday, sources confirm to Deadline. The incident happened around midday, and the FBI was called in. The package did not trigger an evacuation, and work at the Lionsgate offices was not interrupted, we hear.

The agency launched an investigation, as similar suspicious packages had reportedly been delivered to about two dozen businesses within the city. Ultimately, the substance sent the Lionsgate was deemed harmless, sources said. A spokesperson for Lionsgate declined comment.

The LA office of the FBI did not respond to request for comment. However, law enforcement sources confirmed that the contents of the package that arrived at Lionsgate’s Santa Monica offices were “not lethal in any way.”

Authorities continue to investigate he situation.
