Superagent trying to convince Real Madrid star to leave this summer – report

Journalist Romain Molina has reported that Andriy Lunin’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is trying to persuade the goalkeeper to leave Real Madrid this summer.

It must be noted that Lunin teamed up with Mendes at the end of last season, and many saw this as a step towards leaving Real Madrid.

However, Lunin’s prominence increased last season due to Thibaut Courtois’ injury, leading him to seriously consider staying at Madrid.

He even publicly expressed his desire to remain with the club. However, Courtois’ return towards the end of the season, particularly to play in the crucial UEFA Champions League final, was a setback. This turn of events has made it more likely for him to leave the club.

Currently, Lunin has no issue with staying at Real Madrid if they can offer him more playing time, which is unlikely due to Courtois’ presence.

Relationship between Mendes and Madrid is strained

Meanwhile, the relationship between Mendes and Real Madrid has soured, partly because of Leny Yoro’s transfer to Manchester United.

Real Madrid had been interested in Yoro for a long time, but Mendes facilitated his move to Manchester United instead, leaving Real Madrid without their desired player.

Lunin has been a key player for Real Madrid over the past year, especially showcasing his skills in the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Manchester City.

Now, with only a year left on his contract, Real Madrid know they cannot demand a huge transfer fee for him. They prefer Lunin to stay, but they are open to offers if he decides to leave.

After the Yoro transfer to Manchester United, Mendes is not in a strong position to negotiate with Real Madrid. The club values Lunin but understands the reality of his limited playing time due to Courtois.
