Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver and Super Bowl Champion Rashee Rice came forward on Wednesday to publicly admit fault and apologize for the multi-vehicle hit-and-run, street racing crash in Dallas last week.

Dash camera footage from the wreck showed a Lamborghini Urus and C8 Corvette flying down the North Central Expressway before impacting the median wall and a number of vehicles, leaving four people injured on Saturday.

Following the crash, the Dallas Police Department said it was looking for the individuals driving the Lamborghini and Corvette, who failed to exchange information and check on other motorists and had listed Rice as a suspect in the case. Now, three days later, the NFL star has acknowledged his involvement in the street race turned hit-and-run, making a public statement on social media.

"Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident. I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities," a statement posted to Rice's Instagram story read. "I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident."

Rice's attorney, Royce West, also commented on the matter, saying Rice is cooperating with authorities fully and is taking all necessary steps to address the situation responsibly. As a part of that, Rice will take responsibility for the totaled Lamborghini Urus, which he was renting from The Classic Lifestyle, a luxury car rental company based in Dallas. Renting the Urus for $1749 a day, Rice was driving the pricey Lamborghini, an attorney for The Classic Lifestyle told TMZ, while a friend drove Rice's personal Corvette.

As ever, this crash and the ensuing injuries are a reminder to drive with care, especially on a crowded highway in high-performance vehicles. It's not always easy to get to the track, but there is a time and place to open it up. And straight into the back of Hyundai Accent certainly isn't it.
