Super Bowl 2025 will not be on Nickelodeon this year: Where to watch the big game instead
The countdown to the big game begins as the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles prepare to face off at Super Bowl 59 for the second time in the past three years.
The 59th Super Bowl will take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Feb. 9 with Kendrick Lamar joined by SZA as the halftime headliner.
Unlike last year, this year's Super Bowl will not be available to watch on Nickelodeon, or any other CBS-owned platforms including Paramount+, for that matter. Instead, Super Bowl 59 will be broadcast on Fox - coincidentally, the same network that broadcast Super Bowl 57, which also featured the Chiefs versus the Eagles.
The television home of the Superbowl is rotational thanks to the NFL's expansive 11-year agreement, signed in 2021, under which broadcast rights to the NFL games alternate between FOX, CBS, NBC and ABC/ESPN. The game is available on different channels and platforms each year thanks to this contract.
Though Super Bowl 59 will not be available to watch on Nickelodeon for the more casual football fans out there, here's where you can watch it on streaming and television without the added green slime.
Chiefs vs. Eagles: Everything to know about Super Bowl 2025
When and where is Super Bowl 59?
The Super Bowl will take place on Feb. 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET.
Will the Super Bowl be on Nickelodeon again this year? Why?
No, the Super Bowl will not have a Nickelodeon broadcast this year.
Nickelodeon and CBS are affiliated through their parent company, Paramount Global (formerly ViacomCBS). On years CBS does not have the broadcasting rights to the Super Bowl, Nickelodeon doesn't either, meaning there won't be a replay of last year's wildly popular appearances by characters like Spongebob, Patrick and Dora in 2025.
CBS, and by extension possibly Nickelodeon, will broadcast the game next in 2028, according to the agreement.
How to watch the Super Bowl on TV
Fox will be broadcasting the Super Bowl live. Check your local listings for channel information.
Fox can also be accessed with DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, YouTube TV and Hulu with Live TV, so NFL fans will have no shortage of ways to watch Super Bowl 59.
How to watch the Super Bowl on streaming
While Fox will be broadcasting Super Bowl 59, the game will not be available to stream on the Fox Sports App. Instead, the game will be available on Tubi, the network's free streaming service. Viewers will need to create an account with Tubi to access the programming but will be able to see the game, pre and postgame coverage, and all the same commercial options as those watching on cable.
Viewers can also live stream the game on the following platforms:
Fubo: The service comes with a free trial and provides fans with access to most of the league's NFL action, as a subscription includes access to CBS, Fox, NBC, NFL Network and the ESPN family of networks.
DirecTV Stream
Sling TV
YouTube TV
Hulu with Live TV
